What happened
Crocs (CROX) stock rose 25% to about $150 on Thursday after the shoemaker beat profit forecasts and raised its 2026 outlook a third time, as HEYDUDE sales grew again. Third-quarter sales were $1.04 billion, up 4.6% from a year earlier, and profit per share of $3.69, excluding one-time items, beat the $3.31 analysts expected. HEYDUDE, Crocs' casual-shoe brand, grew 6.1% to $170 million, its first rise in six quarters. Crocs now expects 2026 sales to grow about 3% (was 1% to 2%) and profit of $14.45 to $14.65 a share (was $13.70 to $14.00).
Why it matters
Crocs (CROX) showed that its troubled HEYDUDE brand is growing again, which had been one of the company's main problems. Raising its forecast three times in one year also signals that demand has held up better than the company first expected. The CEO described a "K-shaped economy," meaning budget shoppers are struggling while higher-income buyers keep spending.
