What happened
Fastly (FSLY) stock rose about 15% to $29.05 on Friday after Oppenheimer upgraded it to Outperform, citing bigger security deals and early money from AI-agent traffic. Oppenheimer analyst Param Singh raised the rating from Perform (neutral) to Outperform and set a $35 price target. His checks show customers are signing bigger deals as they add Fastly's new security tools, and AI agents (software that acts online on its own) are starting to bring in revenue. Shares were up about 7% before trading opened, and the gain more than doubled by midday.
Why it matters
Fastly helps websites load fast and fends off attacks, and the upgrade suggests AI agents (programs that browse and act online by themselves) may become a new source of income for it. Oppenheimer expects sales growth in the high teens to low 20s percent a year for the next few years. Even so, the stock is already up about 185% this year, so a lot of good news may already be priced in (per).
