What happened
Bloom Energy (BE) stock rose 10.8% to $291.25 on Tuesday after Jefferies raised its price target to $264 from $229, citing Brookfield's $25B framework and AEP's $2.65B order for AI data-center power. Jefferies kept its Hold rating, which means it is neutral, and the stock finished above the new target. The bank said Bloom's plan to power data centers directly on site still holds, though delays at the Jupiter and Vineland projects raise timing risk. Oracle had sent a formal delay notice (force majeure) on Jupiter, which Bloom's fuel cells are meant to power.
Why it matters
Bloom Energy makes fuel cells, boxes that turn natural gas into electricity on site, and AI data centers are buying them to get power without relying only on the grid. A $25 billion framework with Brookfield and a $2.65 billion firm order from utility AEP show big buyers are committing money. Still, the stock is up 257% in a year, so it is expensive and project delays can move the price sharply.
